Presented at the exhibition I Was Born Today are 69 works: ceramics by Hong Jee-eun, woodwork by Geosozae furniture company, metalwork by Lee Yojae, cloisonné by Jeong Seon Hwa, and painting by Bong Soo-min.
Jeong Seon Hwa’s cloisonné aspiring to naturalism and metal insects by Lee Yojae invite viewers to see the elegance of crafts. ‘Small Forest,’ a painting exquisitely colored by illustrator Bong Soo-min, allows the viewers to feel innocent and yet refined sensibility. Wooden furniture embracing natural scenery by Geosozae make the viewers feel comfortable. Unexpected Combination by ceramic artist Hong Jee-eun, who reinterpreted the color scheme of the five traditional Korean colors called obangsaek from a modern perspective, enables the viewers to see the meaning of Korean tradition and human feelings of joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure.
