Gyeonggi Ceramics Biennale
MARKING CERAMICS ON THE WORLD MAP
Established in 2001, the Korean International Ceramic Biennale has established itself as one of the major events transcending locality in Korea. With ceramicists from around the world gathering in Korea and world-renowned ceramic ware presented in
Gyeonggi-do Province, the Biennale a true ceramic arts festival where all ceramic
artists from more than 70 countries across the world gather is held every odd year.
For the past 15 years, the Biennale has been playing a crucial role in shedding light
on the value of Korean ceramics and establishing Korea as the center of world ceramics.
Through diverse efforts to tear down boundaries in ceramics and expanding the realm
of new areas, the Biennale has garnered attention and earned positive reviews from
various fields while succeeding in establishing ceramics as one of the realms of contemporary art.
