The special exhibitions of GICB2015 at Gwangju have come to an end, and the Gyeonggi Ceramic Museum now re-opens the Permanent Exhibition of Works from the Collection of Gyeonggi Ceramic Museum: Beauty Shaped by Koreans on the second floor. This exhibition presents fifty-five artifacts from the Goryeo to late Joseon periods and thirty traditional ceramic works by modern and contemporary artists. It shows the flow and essence of Korean ceramic tradition over an extraordinarily long period of time. Particularly noteworthy is the new section ‘White Porcelain in Ordinary Living,’ which presents forty-five pieces of Joseon porcelain that were used for everyday purposes together with traditional wooden furniture. It shows all the different ways in which white porcelain was used in the master’s quarters, in the kitchen, for table settings, as burial goods, and in rituals.
