As a special exhibition for 2024, the Gyeonggi Ceramic Museum presents Touching Ceramics: An Immersive Experience, an inclusive and interactive exhibition for all visitors to enjoy. This exhibition is a rearrangement of part of the museum’s permanent exhibition, presented in a barrier-free format that allows visitors to engage with ceramic artifacts not just visually, but through touch, sound, and scent.
By expanding the sensory experience, visitors can gain a deeper appreciation for ceramics. Engaging with ceramics through all five senses creates a unique emotional connection—the act of physically "touching ceramics" results in a personal, emotional response of "being touched by ceramics."
We hope that visitors will come away from this exhibition with a much deeper understanding of ceramics and that the public at large sees that the museum has become more inclusive than ever.
