At this workshop, world-famous ceramic artists demonstrated the process of making works of art, and the audience participated in the process to produce the final pieces.
In the new studio next to Icheon World Ceramic Center, the audience was given demonstrations by artists from all over the world, including Peter Voulkos and Jun Kaneko, and experienced cultural exchange with them.
In the World Folk Ceramic Workshop held at Yeoju World Ceramic Livingware Gallery, artists from abroad including Steve Reynolds, Paul Soldner, Don Reitz, and Patty Warashina as well as artists from Korea presented the pottery-making process to the public. Folk ceramic artists from South America and Africaalsoparticipatedinthisworkshop.
The Oriental Ceramic Workshop, which was arranged to better understand the diverse ceramic cultures of the East and to showcase the excellence of Korean ceramics, provided an opportunity to learn about pottery-making techniques used by artists who do truly unique work. The audience was given hands-on experience and demonstrations by the participating artists.

This international symposium is one of the major events of Biennale, which aims to build the theoretical foundation for ceramics to develop in the future and stimulate the ceramic industry and art.
Under the theme of “To Measure the Unmeasurable,” which was divided into three topics “Retrospect : Ceramics in History,” “Passage : Ceramics in Culture,” and “Prospect : Ceramics in Technology & Education,” artists, critics, historians, and representatives from industry engaged in spirited discussion.
