Numerous different hands-on programs with clay as a medium in which everyone was invited to join were held at the Biennale venues

Visitor-oriented events, performances, and many more programs were conducted throughout the Biennale, including ‘Toya Photogenic,’ a competition of photos taken by visitors, ‘Performances and Fringe’ in which ordinary citizens and public corporations participated, and ‘Flea Market’ and other small performances and events.

‘Toya Character Show and Face Painting,’ among others, allowed family visitors to create joyful memories of the Biennale.

World’s Largest Musical Instrument

World’s Largest Musical Instrument
‘Sori-namu (“Tree making Sound”),’ a tree decorated with ceramic pieces, was the world’s largest musical instrument.
It was set up outdoors and produced beautiful sound by the wind.

Like an enormous wind chime, it was a tremendous spectacle and created wonderful sound, and its surroundings became a new space of ceramic art.
